The Impact of Coronavirus on your Church

It is now September 2021 and we have been in and out of lockdown since July. We are planning on resuming services – second Sunday in October. It will be good getting back together.

Since early December 2020 a number of restrictions have eased, for example, the one person per four square metres inside is now one per two square metres. For all changes please continue to monitor the latest developments on the Synod Covid-19 Road Map

It is now June and both the NSW Government and Synod support the recommencement of worship services with the proviso that a Covid-Safe plan has to first be established by each Church Council.
The documents that need to be referred to in developing the plan are.

Instructions for completing a COVIDsafe plan

On the 18th March 2020 Synod and Presbyteries issued a very strong recommendation that we should not be meeting in person in any gathering and that congregations should suspend services to further protect some of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Subsequent Government limitations required that all church services and gatherings on church properties be suspended effective midday on 23rd March 2020 and imposed restrictions on weddings (no more than 5 people) and funerals (no more than 10 people).

Synod is providing regular updates on issues relating to gathering as a community, how we can stay connected, offer pastoral care for the most vulnerable in our midst and be vigilant in keeping in contact with those who will feel unable to attend Church services and other gatherings. Please refer to the updates via this link – Synod Covid-19.
